The Search for Better Sleep

I’ve been in search of a better sleep for a long time. Both myself and my husband have chronic back issues and with full-time shift-work and 2 little girls thrown into the mix, sleep is of the utmost importance.

We purchased a high-end California king-sized pillow-top mattress 2 years ago. It started to sag within a couple of months. We had experienced the same issue with our previous mattress. I wanted to try something different!

Shipping and Unpackaging

The mattress arrived at our door packed in a single box and was easy to unpackage (Mark wouldn’t put on his romper though)! There was no off-gassing or chemical smell, so we were able to sleep on it right away!

I actually had a nap on it the first day for a couple of hours after it arrived. I woke up feeling refreshed and not stiff! Yes!!!

How We Slept

But… and here’s the honest part… in the end, it just didn’t work for us. Over the next couple of weeks, the mattress firmed up quite a bit. The firmer it got, the less our backs liked it! By the end of a month, both Mark and I were waking up stiff. It does take time for your body to adjust to a new mattress, so we gave it a couple more weeks, but it was no better. We could have put a softer foam topper on it, but I felt like if I was going to do that I could just put one on top of a regular mattress.

The Decision

So we ended up returning it. The great thing was that a local charity came and picked it up and it went to someone in need. I love that Endy is a socially conscious company and has a mattress donation system in place!

I would still absolutely recommend that you try an Endy mattress if you are looking for a firmer bed. The mattress quality, wonderful Canadian company, ease of shipping and installation, and 100-night trial make it an excellent option!
