I put a few pumpkins from Somerset Pumpkins on the front porch with some beautiful white Mums. Then I added faux magnolia garland from last Thanksgiving around the door! If you look closely you’ll see they aren’t all the same garlands! I just used what I had!

I kept the colour palette neutral with whites, greens, and earth tones. ( I put the orange pumpkins away to cure, ready to be carved up for Halloween). It’s
A mix of textures to create visual interest…rattan stands, black cache pots and white and gnarly green pumpkins mix to create an interesting vignette.
Tiny white pumpkins nestled on a
Faux and real pumpkins sit side by side and are illuminated by the soft glow of the glass lantern at their feet at dusk.
The mudroom porch at the side of the house is our main entrance/exit point. So I kept it clutter-free with a little faux orange tree and my trusty Hunter boots! And yes, I do actually wear my wellies all the time. They are functional as well as decorative!!
A small basket of pumpkins and more white mums finish the space.
At the side of the house, the firepit area got a mini makeover with some new charcoal grey Adirondack chairs. I found these on sale at Rona for $10! Score! I like the recycled plastic over the wooden ones as they are completely impervious to the weather. They are also stackable so we can store them easily in the winter! We are ready for campfires and s’mores… a fall staple at our home!
Even the playset got a little touch of fall with the addition of…you guessed it…more white mums!!
The white mums literally went everywhere this year. They are just so classic and I love that you can find these giant ones at Costco for $12 CAD!
The garage had a few carefully placed pumpkins stacked in front of it as well, but someone (Ollie) has a pumpkin stealing problem so they were put closer to the house where they could be monitored for clandestine activity!!
I feel like the side of the garage is calling out for an oversize wreath. I was going to make one out of apple branches, but ran out of time so it will have to wait until Christmas I think!!
Inside, it was all about less is more. I went on a decluttering and cleaning spree and felt like taking a break before the Halloween and Christmas decorating madness sets in! I just added a couple of neutral plaid throws, some glass pumpkins (can you spot them?) and some clippings from the yard. The clippings actually have cute little white berries on them, which you can see up close!
In the kitchen, this stunning copper Kitchenaid stand mixer from Crate & Barrel was all that was needed to jazz up the countertop area. The blue backsplash tile provides a nice contrast and really makes it shine!
The only other element I added to the kitchen was this sweet little replica dough bowl from McGee & Co. I filled it with faux eucalyptus stems, twinkle lights and the last of the peaches that we brought back with us from the Okanagan. It would look just as pretty with some fall apples, squash or mini pumpkins!
The clippings that I had placed in the large vase on the kitchen table wilted quickly so I replaced them with some dried pussy willows from the spring.
A couple of copper mule mugs add some shine and look pretty paired with a bowl of fresh hazelnuts. The girls love cracking these open to snack on. I love decor that doubles…by that I mean things that are functional like my rubber boots or stand mixer or edible like these nuts or the pumpkins! Using everyday items like these means less storage of seasonal decor and less clutter and consumerism!
One last tip: Use cute puppies as seasonal decor. They are cute in any setting or season!!
